 MEET THE 2017-2018 LOCAL FOOD AMBASSADORS

For Fall Semester 2017, we have Local Food Ambassadors at Fayetteville State University, NC A&T State University, and University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We look forward to supporting local food programs and events at our other partner schools: Elizabeth City State University, North Carolina Central University, Winston Salem State University.

Kristian Carlyle Fayetteville State University, Political Science Major 

Planning to graduate Spring 2020, Kris is interested in social justice, has experience in planning campus events, and hopes to connect local food to increasing healthy food options on campus.

Heaven Jordan NC A&T State University, Food and Nutritional Sciences Major

In her Junior year, Heaven is already serving on A&T’s Student Food Advisory Board and has experience in educating youth as an AmeriCorps member. She is interested in sparking dialogue on food waste.

Tenisha McLean UNC Pembroke, Biology Major, Math Minor

Tenisha has worked with the Greener Coalition student group and planned a Farm Worker Awareness Week event. She has experience in educating her fellow students and serves as a tutor on campus
